At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Khanh Ngoc highly appreciated the purpose of this delegation to exchange experiences in the field of legal international cooperation including the accession to legal international organizations, discussion and finalization of the agreement on ODA Project to support the Lao National Academy of Justice, discussion of the situation of civil legal assistance and the issues of Laos students in Dong Hoi Law School.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Khanh Ngoc emphasized the focal role of the International Cooperation Department of the two Ministries of Justice in promoting the cooperative relationship between the two Ministries, contributing to strengthening and developing legal cooperation between the two countries. In particular, in 2017 - the year marks many important events between Vietnam and Laos, Deputy Minister hopes in the future, through the focal point of the two International Cooperation Departments, the Ministry of Justice of the two countries will work effectively to implement cooperation activities.
Appriciating the sincere and compassionate sharing that Vice Minister Nguyen Khanh Ngoc has given to the Lao Ministry of Justice in general and to the delegation in particular, the Director General Kệt-sa-na Phôm-ma-chăn promised to closely cooperate with the ICD of Vietnamese Ministry of Justice in implementing the 2015-2020 MOU on legal and judicial cooperation and the 2017 Work Plan, the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Co-operation Treaty and the 35th anniversary of the Vietnam-Laos Judicial Cooperation, contributing to the consolidation and development of legal and judicial cooperation, the relationship between the two countries in particular, the traditional friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general.
Deputy Minister hoped that this working visit of the delegation will achieve good results, gaining valuable information and experiences on strengthening legal international cooperation, especially multilateral cooperation and international legal cooperation. Besides, through professional exchanges with relevant units on the implementation of civil legal assistance under the civil and criminal legal assistance agreement between Vietnam and Laos; The study issues of Lao students at Dong Hoi Law Intermediate School, the two sides will devise measures and practical solutions to further improve the efficiency and quality of these works.
