After 12 years of implementing Directive No. 41-CT/TW, dated April 15, 2010 of the Secretariat of the 10th tenure, economic diplomacy has had strong changes, making important contributions to the country's socio-economic development achievements. However, the awareness of all levels and sectors about the position, role and importance of economic diplomacy is not adequate; economic diplomacy has not kept up with the situation and development requirements of the country, and has not been closely linked with defense, security, cultural and social diplomacy to create a comprehensive strength. Economic relations with a number of important partners still have many difficulties and obstacles, intertwined interests are not really profound, and have not yet brought into full play their real effectiveness; external resources have not been linked with domestic resources. Research, forecasting and strategic advice on economic diplomacy have at times and in some places not kept up with the requirements of the task
Vietnam after nearly 30 years of international economic integration

Abstract: After nearly 30 years of international economic integration, since Vietnam joined the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 1995 and the United States normalized diplomatic relations with Vietnam, our country's average economic growth rate has reached about 7%/year. The article presents the current situation and achievements Vietnam has achieved since its international economic integration, especially the trade relations between Vietnam and countries in the ASEAN region, the European Union (EU), the United States and China; and suggests policy implications to improve the effectiveness of Vietnam's international economic integration in the new context.
