UNDP Helps VN Strengthen Access to Justice and Protection of Rights

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) have initiated a five-year project called “Strengthening access to justice and protection of rights in Vietnam in Hanoi. Accordingly, UNDP will provide US$6.4 million to support MOJ and related justice agencies in strengthening access to justice and rights protection for the poor and vulnerable groups in Vietnam.

<p style="text-align:justify;text-indent:1cm;" class="MsoNormal"><font size="2" face="Arial">The project will support a number of Vietnam key priorities in legal and judicial reform from now until 2014. The project is a stepping stone of the process of supporting the implementation of the <span id="IL_AD4" class="IL_AD">Strategy</span> for the Development of Vietnam’s Legal System to 2010 with vision to 2020. The project will also support the Judicial Reform Steering Committee Secretariat to conduct cross-cutting research on implementation of the Judicial Reform Strategy to 2020.</font></p>
